Terms and Conditions for Legacy Lawyers
1. Attorney-Client Relationship:
By engaging our services, you agree to the formation of an attorney-client relationship between you and Legacy Lawyers PLLC. This relationship is governed by the principles of confidentiality and attorney-client privilege, ensuring that communications between you and our attorneys are protected and remain private. This privilege may only be waived by you or as otherwise required by law.
2. Scope of Services
The scope of our legal representation will be outlined in a separate engagement agreement or correspondence. Our services are provided based on the information you supply, and we rely on you to provide accurate and complete details relevant to your case. Legacy Lawyers PLLC does not guarantee specific outcomes or results.
3. Fees and Billing
• Flat Fee Structure: Unless otherwise specified in your engagement agreement, legal services are provided on a flat-fee basis, covering the specific tasks or stages of your case.
• Hourly Charges for Meetings: Meetings beyond the initial consultation or as outlined in the engagement agreement may incur additional hourly charges, billed at the rates specified in the agreement. This includes extended consultations, strategy sessions, or updates requested by the client.
• Reimbursable Expenses: You agree to reimburse Legacy Lawyers PLLC for costs incurred on your behalf, such as filing fees, courier charges, or other necessary expenses.
4. Retainers
If applicable, retainers are required to secure our services and will be applied toward outstanding fees and costs. Any unused portion of the retainer at the conclusion of the engagement will be refunded unless otherwise agreed.
5. Termination of Services
You or Legacy Lawyers PLLC may terminate the attorney-client relationship at any time by providing written notice. In the event of termination:
• You will be responsible for payment of fees and expenses incurred up to the date of termination.
• We will take reasonable steps to protect your interests, including providing a copy of your file upon request.
6. Confidentiality
All communications and information shared with Legacy Lawyers PLLC are protected under attorney-client privilege and will not be disclosed without your consent, except as required by law or necessary to represent your interests.
7. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide the highest level of professional service, Legacy Lawyers PLLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the services provided, except as required by applicable law.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions, along with the engagement agreement, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
9. Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, along with the engagement agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Legacy Lawyers PLLC regarding the services provided. No other promises or agreements, express or implied, will be binding unless included in a written amendment.
